15x1 Abby and Malik try to help 8-year-old Jasmine Esquivel, who was in the back of a burning car. The kid knows a lot about medicine for her age as she can tell Abby exactly what type of inhaler she has for her moderate persistent asthma and can say words like "Beclomethasone" and "leukotriene." Gates tries to intubate a conscious Pratt. Sam and Morris are by him. Neela is called in to help out Pratt... who will eventually need CPR.
15x2 Abby talks with 11-year-old twin brothers Curly and Larry. She expects that the conversation will be about sex, drugs, relationships, etc., but the twins are more interested in knowing if putting a penny on the El track will cause the train to crash or if vampires can have AIDS. At one point, Abby thinks she is being punked. Morris is unsure about his abilities, especially since Pratt's last words to him where "Don't screw it up, Morris."Zeke, one of Abby's patients makes his way to the roof in order to jump. Abby tells Brenner that this is her last shift at the hospital. She also takes the opportunity to tell him to get real with people or he'll never make it as a successful doctor. According to a rumor going around the hospital, Abby got a job at a hospital in Boston and she, along with Luka and their son, are relocating there. Sam, Neela, Gates, Dubenko, Grady, Marquez, and Haleh also appear as well as new character Catherine Bancroft.
15x3 THERE’S A NEW CHIEF IN TOWN—GOLDEN GLOBE WINNER ANGELA BASSETT (“MEET THE BROWNS,”“WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT”) JOINS THE CAST—Neela (Parminder Nagra) is disappointed when she finds out Abby’s good news second hand. When a gunshot wound victim comes into the ER, the new chief, Catherine Banfield (Golden Globe winner Angela Bassett) and Abby (Maura Tierney) butt heads on how to treat the patient. Abby comes to Sam’s (Linda Cardellini) defense when she goes before a nurses disciplinary board. John Stamos and Scott Grimes also star.
15x4 Dissatisfied with the interns' performance, Banfield decides to start a new system. Each intern gets a mentor with daily two-way crits: Daria is paired with Gates, Ryan with Morris, and Tracy with Brenner. Brenner tells Tracy how he wants to proceed, but she insists on doing things her way.
15x5 Sam's time is taken up by her studies for a pharmacology exam, leaving Gates feeling neglected. A school fight results in a stabbing, with Brenner treating the victim and trying to uncover the truth behind the story. Morris has a surprise for Neela. Meanwhile, the interns continue to struggle in keeping up in the ER.
15x8 Gates obsession with a homeless war hero has Sam frustrated. When the whole surgery department gets named in a lawsuit, Neela becomes upset at her intern who caused the suit. A husband and wife come into the ER after an attempt was made by someone to burn down their home. Brenner gets physical with a patient after losing his cool.
15x9 Neela is in court to give her testimony over the death of one of her patients who bled out. Alex and Sarah get in a horrible car accident after going to a party against Sam's wishes. Meanwhile, Morris and Banfield are in Nebraska for an ER conference and become snowed in and stuck.
15x10 Morris receives an unwanted package from his father at the ER doorstep. Sam is anxious about getting Alex off of the ventilator after his accident. Meanwhile, a pregnant woman with a high-risk pregnancy is in danger of getting deported.
15x11 A drug deal gone bad causes Banfield to treat two brothers in the ER who are seriously injured. Gates becomes upset with Sam after she fails to inform him that Alex was being released from the hospital. After treating a girl with sickle cell anemia, Neela considers changing her specialty to pediatric surgery. Meanwhile, Dr. Banfield and her husband makes a critical decision concerning their future together.
15x12 A bizarre recurring dream has Neela reliving the crazy day in which she treated a girl who was suffering from sickle cell anemia. Gates' patient injured himself when he jumped from a window while asleep. Meanwhile, Neela goes in for an interview concerning a new attending and is shocked when she sees Dr. Elizabeth Corday there.
15x13 Morris treats a child who was hit by a vehicle while riding her bike. Meanwhile, Gates can't stop thinking about Sam, and having learned that Brenner has returned from Australia has Neela all nerved up.
15x14 Dr. Morgenstern makes a return to County general when his former mentor is felled by a serious illness. Meanwhile, Sam receives an unexpected visit from her sister. Plus, Gates and Morris help out an elderly man who was beaten on the streets, and Brenner's patient is affected by a shocking problem.
15x15 A mother is severely injured by a car accident in the ambulance bay; an insurance company frustrates Morris; Neela tells Brenner about her offer in North Carolina.
15x16 Valentine's Day in the ER sees Neela and Brenner growing closer. Banfield tries to convince her husband to go along with her new plan to have a baby. Gates treats a patient who may have ingested a toxin while "mushroom hunting" while Neela performs surgery on a young girl's mother.
